The RPA’s Commercial activities are experiencing an exciting period of growth and we are now looking to appoint a new role of Partnerships Manager.
The RPA is the representative body and collective voice of professional rugby players in England which was established in 1998 to look after the interests of all professional players, from Academy players to the superstars of the international game. The RPA offers members Player Welfare and Representation services as well as a comprehensive Player Development Programme to help prepare them for life after rugby. The RPA has also acted as the exclusive commercial representative of the England Team since February 2004.
Current RPA Partners include Computacenter, Aviva, BMW, HSBC, KPMG, Monitise, TAG Heuer, The Sunday Times and Virgin Atlantic.
Reporting directly to the Commercial Director, the position is responsible for activating the current rights of existing RPA Commercial Partners and Business Club members. The Partnerships Manager will also develop all aspects of our Commercial activity including Marketing, PR, Events and Digital activity.
The responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to:
- Activating the rights of current RPA Commercial Partners and Business Club members
- Creating Events and Sponsorship Proposals for prospective RPA Commercial Partners
- Developing RPA’s digital activity in conjunction with Communications team
- Day to day handling of Commercial PR activity
- Distribute Commercial press releases and communications
- Implementing the marketing strategy specifically in the areas of events, hospitality, sponsorship
- Developing and implementing the CRM strategy of the RPA
- Assist the Player Director with Commercial appearances
Skills & Experience Required:
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a successful track record of activating sponsorships with major brands and/or corporate clients. You will possess a sound understanding of the benefits of sponsorship, partnerships and events and be able to demonstrate an organised and structured approach. You will be able to create and communicate innovative proposals suitable for corporate clients. Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships with clients are essential. Attention to detail and strong project management skills are essential as well as a sound understanding of social media and digital content and how they can support commercial activity. A positive, flexible approach is required along with the commitment to the RPA’s mission statement, vision and key values.
