This is the Privacy and Cookies Policy for the website hosted at www.therpa.co.uk (our website). The website is operated by or on behalf of The Rugby Players’ Association (we, us and our). We are a trade union representing athletes who currently play or have played rugby union in England at a professional or semi-professional level. Our office is at 5th Floor, Regal House, 70 London Road, Twickenham, TW1 3QS. We are committed to protecting and respecting your privacy.

This Policy sets out the basis on which any personal data we collect from you, or that you provide to us, will be processed by us. Please read the following carefully to understand our views and practices regarding your personal data and how we will treat it. By visiting our website, you are accepting and consenting to the practices described in this Policy.

For the purposes of European data protection law, (the "Data Protection Law"), the data controller is The Rugby Players’ Association.

Information we collect from you

Each time you visit to our website we will automatically collect the following information:

• technical information, including the Internet protocol (IP) address used to connect your computer to the Internet, your login information, browser type and version, time zone setting, browser plug-in types and versions, operating system and platform; • information about your visit, including the full Uniform Resource Locators (URL), clickstream to, through and from our website (including date and time), pages you viewed or searched for, page response times, download errors, length of visits to certain pages, page interaction information (such as scrolling, clicks, and mouse-overs), methods used to browse away from the page, and any phone number used to call our customer service number; • where we have provided you with log in details for the “Player Login” area of our website, information also you visit, including the fact you have logged into the Player Login area of our website.

Information we receive from other sources.

This is information we receive about you if you use any of the other services we provide. In this case, we will have informed you when we collected that data if we intend to share those data internally and combine it with data collected on this website. We will also have told you for what purpose we will share and combine your data.

Storage of your personal data

The data that we collect from you may be transferred to, and stored at, a destination outside the European Economic Area ("EEA") that may not be subject to equivalent Data Protection Law. It may also be processed by staff operating outside the EEA who work for us or for one of our suppliers. All information you provide to us is stored on our secure servers. Where we have given you (or where you have chosen) a password which enables you to access certain parts of our website, you are responsible for keeping this password confidential. We ask you not to share a password with anyone.

We retain personal data acquired from you via the cookies explained above in accordance with the functionality of each of those cookies and that cookie’s expiry period (as described in the cookie table above). Where you are a member of the RPA and access the Player Login area of our website, we will retain data collected in relation to that access for as long as you remain a member with access to the Player Login area.

Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. Although we will do our best to protect your personal data, we cannot guarantee the security of your data transmitted to our website; any transmission is at your own risk. Once we have received your information, we will use strict procedures and security features to try to prevent unauthorised access.
