HOW WE HELP

Since 2005, we have invested over £2million into player support.

Every rugby player dreams of combining their job with their passion by wearing the shirt for their team, club, and country.

However, the game has become more physically and emotionally demanding, increasing the risk of serious injuries.

One bad tackle, collapsed scrum, concussion or accident off the pitch can mean it's all over.  When the worst happens, Restart is there to support players and their families through challenging times.

We provide grants to help current and former players facing financial, medical, and emotional difficulties. This support ranges from funding rehabilitation and disability assistance to helping with the cost of essential equipment or home modifications. Additionally, we assist players with expenses related to long-term or ongoing medical treatment.

WHO WE HELP

Over 800 current and 100 former players have access to our support.

We support players during and after their elite rugby career.

Players do not need to be a RPA Member to apply for support from Restart, however you must have played at one of the following professional levels:

  • England
  • GB Sevens or England Sevens
  • Men's Premiership (including Academy players)
  • England Women XV
  • Championship (discretionary support, depending on the level of charity funds available).

If you have any questions about receiving or applying for funding, email restartrugby@therpa.co.uk.
