Rugby Rosé is an award winning Côtes de Provence Rosé wine made by two former rugby playing brothers at their family-run vineyard near Toulon. The Rugby Rosé concept was created by Pink Vines, a UK based company uniquely specialising in the marketing and distribution of Provençal Rosé.
The result is an exciting new partnership between Pink Vines and Restart Rugby, the official charity of The Rugby Players’ Association (RPA). The Players Charity will benefit from a donation each time a bottle or glass of Rugby Rosé is opened and enjoyed during the 2015/16 season.
Just like rugby, Rosé is increasingly enjoyed throughout the year and not just in the summer months. Pink Vines and Restart Rugby are, therefore, extremely excited to introduce this innovative concept and would urge UK fans to Try it and Pass it on!
Adam Payne, Managing Director of Pink Vines Ltd commented:
“As a rugby fan living in the South of France I have for some time been of the opinion that Rugby and Rosé are extremely compatible. By creating Rugby Rosé, and partnering with Restart Rugby, we hope that rugby fans up and down the country will enjoy this award winning wine whilst contributing to an extremely worthwhile cause.”
RPA Group CEO and former England International Damian Hopley said of the agreement:
“In a year when England will stage the third largest global sporting event, the Rugby World Cup, then it’s fantastic that Restart Rugby is benefitting from sales of the award winning Rugby Rosé.
This is a great opportunity for the growing number of rosé lovers to show their support for players who suffer injury, illness or hardship. Given the opportunity to combine two of my favourite things in the world – rugby and rosé – as well as assisting players who need our help, then how could any rugby fans possibly resist?! We are looking forward to a stunning year ahead for both organisations.”
Former Wasps, Toulon, England and British & Irish Lions legend Simon Shaw added:
“Living in the South of France I fully appreciate how seriously the region takes their Rugby and their Rosé. It’s great that these two cultural worlds have joined for the benefit of the players’ charity, Restart Rugby.
In retirement there is no better way to spend an afternoon than watching Rugby with a chilled glass of Provençal Rosé in hand. I hope Premiership fans will enjoy the same experience whilst supporting their teams and Restart Rugby next season.”
