RPA Extend Exclusive Wealth Management Partnership with Sanlam UK

The Rugby Players Association (RPA) today announced the extension of our exclusive wealth management partnership with Sanlam UK.

During the last three years Sanlam UK have played an invaluable part in the support we offer our membership, including all aspects of the Gain Line programme, club visits, player work experience and vital information on financial issues that may impact our membership. Most recently in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Sanlam UK were pivotal in supporting RPA members by producing essential financial guidance, via exclusive webinars and ezines, to help them during such a challenging time. Our players have experienced the wide range of opportunities made available to them by the fantastic team at Sanlam UK.

Sanlam UK have also been proud supporters of the RPA Awards sponsoring the Sanlam Young Player of the year Award since 2017. The RPA are only too aware the coming months will continue to be a challenge, but maintaining the financial education of our members is a hugely positive step in ensuring they are as well equipped as possible for the times ahead.

Andrew Lewis, Sales Director, Sanlam Wealth, said: "Sanlam UK has established itself over the last three years as a trusted partner within the rugby community thanks to our relationship with the RPA. We are delighted to have extended our partnership at a time when members require as much valued support as possible. Our work developing financial awareness and education coupled with career development opportunities has been gratefully received by current and retired players."

'With the professional game going through constant change and challenges, Sanlam UK and The RPA continue to be accountable for looking after the interests of RPA members and support them in a capacity above and beyond just their personal financial planning requirements."

RPA CEO, Damian Hopley MBE, said: "Sanlam have played a fundamental role for the RPA over the last three years and we are delighted that this partnership will be extended into 2021. Not only have Sanlam UK provided expert wealth management advice and guidance to our current and former members since coming on board as partners in 2017, but to continue this support during these uncertain times, is testament to our shared values around player welfare & education.

"In addition to supporting the players with their wealth of knowledge in the financial sector, Sanlam UK also continue to sponsor  an award at our RPA annual Players Awards. We are thrilled to be continuing working with Andrew and his team into the New Year.”
