The three man shortlist has today been confirmed for the inaugural Monitise England Player of the Year Award, to be presented at the RPA Computacenter Players’ Awards 2013 on Wednesday 22nd May at Battersea Evolution.
The Monitise England Player of the Year Award has been introduced at an exciting time for English rugby with a number of rising stars having recently staked their claim for a place in Head Coach Stuart Lancaster’s England squad to tour Argentina. London Wasps’ second row Joe Launchbury who has also been nominated by his peers for The Computacenter Players’ Player and the LV= Young Player of the Year, caps an impressive first international season with a place on the England Players’ shortlist.
Joining him are two England and Leicester Tigers’ stars who have recently been selected to represent the British & Irish Lions in Australia, Geoff Parling and Tom Youngs. Youngs, who has made a sensational impact in his first year as an international hooker, has also been nominated for the Computacenter Players’ Player of the Year.
