The RPA is the representative body and collective voice of professional rugby players in England which was established in 1998 to look after the interests of all professional players, from Academy players to the superstars of the international game. The RPA offers members Player Welfare and Representation services as well as a comprehensive Player Development Programme to help prepare them for life after rugby. The RPA has also acted as the exclusive commercial representative of the England Team since February 2004.
Reporting to the CEO, the Rugby Director will be part of the Executive Management Team and a member of the RPA Management Board. The RPA Rugby Director will lead the rugby department in all Player Welfare services and programmes available to members.
The key areas within the Rugby department include but are not limited to:
- Player Welfare and Representation
- Player Employment/Legal Matters
- Player Insurance
- Player Development Programme
CEO, Executive Management Team, RPA Management Board and Non-Executive Directors, Player Services Manager, Player Development Managers, RFU/Premiership Rugby Board and Working Groups.
Skills & Experience required:
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate exposure to the elite level of professional rugby, alongside management or leadership experience gained in a corporate environment. Applicants will have a good technical knowledge of professional rugby, strong interpersonal and communication skills with the proven ability to lead and be part of a highly skilled team.
