Events Assistant

The RPA is the representative body and collective voice of professional rugby players in England which was established in 1998 to look after the interests of all professional players, from Academy players to the superstars of the international game. The RPA offers members Player Welfare and Representation services as well as a comprehensive Player Development Programme to help prepare them for life after rugby. The RPA has also acted as the exclusive commercial representative of the England Team since February 2004.


Reporting to the Partnerships Manager, the Events Assistant will provide general support to the RPA Commercial Department and direct support on the RPA’s comprehensive events programme in this exciting Rugby World Cup year. These events include the RPA Players’ Awards, Golf Days, Networking Evenings and The Players’ Lounge international match day hospitality.

Key Responsibilities:

The responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to:

  • Ensuring efficient delivery of RPA Events – co-ordinating guest lists, assisting with on-site activity, budget planning and supplier sourcing which will involve some early mornings and late finishes
  • Liaison with RPA Commercial Partners
  • Management and distribution of signed auction items
  • Management and distribution of ticket inventory and hospitality packs
  • Supporting the Partnerships Manager and RPA Commercial Department on day-to-day administration and other ad hoc projects
  • General office duties

RPA Commercial and Events Department, RPA Executive Management Team, RPA Players Board

Skills & Experience required

  • Minimum 12 months’ experience of working in an events related role
  • Ability to work independently and proactively within tight deadlines
  • Flexible, team player with a can-do attitude
  • Confident communicator with people of all levels
  • Great organiser and administrator
  • Good working knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint and Photoshop
