Restart Round

Every season, Premiership Rugby kindly gifts us one weekend in the Gallagher Premiership to highlight the work we do for the game and the players.  Previously called Restart Weekend, this year we built on it's foundations to run a two-week fundraising campaign from the 3rd - 16th May 2021 called Restart Round.

Focused around Round 18 of the Gallagher Premiership, we raised awareness and funds to support players' mental health and our 24/7 Confidential Counselling Service. All fixtures during Round 18 of the Gallagher Premiership, from the 7th - 9th May, were dedicated to Restart and our Restart Round campaign.

Where Have The Funds Raised Gone?

Every penny raised from Restart Round has gone directly to supporting current and former players' mental health. All donations from this campaign have gone towards funding our 24/7 Confidential Counselling Service that is accessible to over 800 current and 400 former professional rugby players should they be struggling.

The service includes a free 24/7 telephone helpline for players to call at any time, from anywhere in the world when they need help. It is a discrete, safe lifeline for players finding it difficult to open-up and take the first step. From there, players are able to access a trained professional who will be able to provide free one-to-one support and help around issues such as anxiety, depression, stress, coping with injury, relationship issues, career transition and bereavement.

Every season, approximately 50 players are referred to our Confidential Counselling Service and it acts as a lifeline when times get tough.

Thanks to your support, we can ensure that this vital service can continue to be available for players and their families.
