The Restart Alpine Challenge is back in 2021 as former professional rugby player, recovering quadriplegic and Restart trustee, Ed Jackson, will lead the group for a unique expedition through the Gran Paradiso National Park in Italy.
Included will be three days of trekking through the beautiful and remote valleys of the Gran Paradiso National Park, staying overnight in mountain refuges as you head further into the mountains. The challenge will culminate on the final day, as you prepare to summit Mont Taou Blanc standing at 3,438 meters …more than double the height of Ben Nevis!
Ed Jackson will be joined by another former professional rugby player so keep your eyes peeled and ears to the ground for news on which player will be taking part in the Alpine Challenge...!
We are working with the CHX team of mountain experts for this event who have designed the routes to be challenging but accessible and achievable for everyone. Although this challenge requires no technical mountaineering experience, a good level of fitness is required for the demanding routes, though CHX staff will be on hand to guide and provide support throughout.
