In an effort to make its members aware of the need to start considering post rugby career choices, The RPA organised a visit to Millfield School in Somerset for Bath to demonstrate one career potentially available to them once they hang up their boots.

Millfield is one of the top rugby schools in the country and with former Bath and England prop John Mallett now the head of rugby, it was the perfect place for the Aviva Premiership side to visit. A number of players including Nick Abendanon, Ben Skirving, Andy Beattie, Ross Batty, Mark Lilly and Nathan Catt attended the day.

Bath winger Abendanon, who is considering a PGCE teaching qualification, was certainly impressed with what he saw: “To put it lightly this place is unbelievable. If you manage to get yourself a job or get your foot in the door at a place like Millfield, you have to take the opportunity as there are not many schools that can boast facilities such as these.
