Nine Feet Tall recently led a training session with the Rugby Players’ Association’s Personal Development Managers (PDMs) to enable them to develop critical business communication skills across their respective clubs as part of the RPA Personal Development Programme (PDP).
Nine Feet Tall have worked closely with the RPA and Julian Springer (PDM for Bath Rugby and Bristol Rugby) to develop and pilot a suite of highly interactive, practical short courses that can be immediately applied by all players. These will help to improve their communications skill sets to enable success beyond the playing field and also to increase their effectiveness in their current work environments. After piloting the sessions with Sale Sharks, Worcester Warriors and Bath Rugby throughout last season the courses have been fine-tuned and will be rolled out across other Aviva Premiership Clubs.
Julian Springer commented: “Through the support of Nine Feet Tall, the RPA’s Personal Development Managers will now be able to deliver effective communication seminars to RPA members. These sessions will focus on developing players’ soft skills, including nonverbal communication, engaged listening and communicating assertively, which can be utilised both on the field and as they transition into future careers away from the sport.”
Huw Jones from Nine Feet Tall added: “We are proud of our business club relationship with the RPA and share many of their values for excellence, personal development and capability building. We will continue to support the PDM’s with these courses and look forward to hearing their success stories in the coming months.”
