The Rugby Players’ Association (RPA) last night staged a business networking evening hosted by RPA Business Club member, Macfarlanes LLP, at their central London offices.
The evening, which was part of the RPA Player Development Programme (PDP), gave members of the England Sevens and England Women’s squads the opportunity to meet and network with professionals from a range of different industry sectors.
The RPA Player Development Programme is designed to individually support, guide and assist its members with their personal and professional development, providing them with the skills needed to make a successful transition into life after rugby.
With nine England Sevens squad members in attendance, England Sevens captain, Tom Mitchell said: “It was a fantastic evening for all involved and we’re so grateful that The RPA organises events like these to give the players an opportunity to come and meet people from different industries and businesses. As a young player coming through the ranks of professional rugby you’re not often thinking ahead to your future but these events really open your mind to the potential opportunities out there for players after rugby and for that we’re extremely thankful.
