A bright and crisp September day set the scene for the annual RPA Rugby Open, in association with ProSport Insurance at The Buckinghamshire Golf Club.

Current and Alumni RPA members competed to emulate last year’s winner, Ben Kay and become the 2015 RPA Rugby Open Players’ Champion. The players included England 2003 RWC Winner Trevor Woodman, Henry Thomas (Bath Rugby & England), Ben Spencer and Jared Saunders (Saracens) as well as former Exeter Chiefs players Neil Clark and Chris Whitehead.

After an intense contest the team four-ball competition was won with 92 points by Rhead Group playing with Jared Saunders, with each player taking home a TaylorMade Golf Bag. Ben Spencer was crowned overall individual Player Champion and won a fantastic three night golf stay at the Westin La Quinta Golf and Spa in Marbella courtesy of event supporters Your Golf Travel.

Following the on-course entertainment guests enjoyed an excellent BBQ whilst watching Scotland get their RWC campaign off to a bonus point winning start against the heroes of pool B, Japan. The day was supported by a number of the RPA’s Business Partners including ProSport Insurance, Ricoh, Rhead Group, Northern Trust, KPMG and Affinion.

Our thanks go to car and home insurance provider, ProSport Insurance, the title sponsor of the RPA Rugby Open, whose support made the day possible. Additional thanks go to Adidas TaylorMade for their outstanding prizes and the Buckinghamshire Golf Club who delivered yet another fabulous golf event.
